Pork Siomai (Steamed Dumplings)

This is a simplified version of pork Siomai. I omit ingredients that are seasonal or scarce to find in the market like water chestnut and/or turnips(singkamas) but if it available, you add ½ cup (grated) of it.

Ingredients:

½ kilo ground meat
¼ cup onion (minced)
2 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon salt
1 egg
2 tablespoon cornstarch
Wanton wrapper (medium size)

Cooking Procedure:

Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Put a table spoonful of meat mixture in wanton wrapper and wrap. Brush with cooking oil the bed of the steamer before laying the Siomai. Steam to about 30 minutes.
